Takumi is loyal
Especially to Hiriko

Takumi is a good person and I'm tired of pretending he's not.
He loved his friends and trusted every single one of the SDU. When he makes a mistake, he doesn't blame anyone and even shoulders it as seen in Retsnom. He even allows Gaku to blame him for a fuck up that was all on Gaku, even tried to dissuade Kurara and Kyoshika when they decided to defend him. He's also good natured enough that he can resist the G'ie and managed to stop himself from biting Kurara. There's also the ending where he sacrifices himself to let Kyoshika escape.
He was also horrified when Hiruko revealed that she'd known that he was the killer and let him continue on his murder spree. Even then he didn't hold it against her and encouraged her to escape so she doesn't die.
The reason he hates Eito so much is because practically trampled on his trust and spat in his face and even then, he can choose to spare the bastard.
Takumi may not be perfect but he's far from being the monster people make him out to be

They're always more interesting because we are at the receiving end of Hiruko's own story of trying to break free from her loop and to save Takumi, so her entire character is a large mystery we gradually get to uncover while she's always covering up for us.
In Slasher, you'd think the main mystery was what's up with Yugamu and who's doing the killings and yet it ends on an entirely different note with a heartfelt confession from Hiruko that needed all the bullshit that happened to happen.
