My guess is people like doing it because he still has a B in strength, meaning the weapons do good enough damage. We're not in depths yet so everything dies pretty easily still. Then more importantly, they have his ultimate to save the run easier and his skill is really good on trash. Also you can still carry a greatshield with you if you ever want to swap back to his blocking playstyle.

I like it sometimes for challenge. I get scared playing solo and I feel lonely. I like playing with randoms more. Playing with friends is really fun, but it’s also too easy. Randoms keep it fresh and well random lol.
