>>the map on Guidebook was unreadable unless you already memorized the layout of the HBG center
That was super annoying. They should have an interactive map or something. I learned the map layout last year, and only because I was getting lost trying to find rooms. They should have more maps around the facility.
I had a pretty good time too.
Cons:
>the Panty & Stocking Studio Trigger session was about an hour late because they checked out IDs three times! three times!
And they weren't controlling the line so a lot of people that came in later got in earlier too. It was a mess. It was cool to see the behind the scenes stuff though.
>heavily booking a lot of interesting panels and meet-ups on Friday, leaving Saturday a bit barren
That was for me at least. Friday was exhausting and I didn't get to go everything I wanted. Saturday had me wandering around a lot trying to find things. Also they booked the Harada Q&A at the same time as the Studio Trigger panel which annoyed me since I wanted to go to both.
>18+ market was mostly ecchi variants of already existing content from the artist alley
I get it, but I didn't see much stuff, like figurines I was looking forward to. Also like you said there was more interesting 18+ stuff in the normal artist alley. Kind of goofy. Oh well.
Pros:
>concentrated the meet-up areas and general events
Last year it felt like they were scattered around, but the meet-ups were all in that one area with good photo places. That was a good improvement.
>Good variety of guests
They pulled some great JP guests, no idea how they got some of them to come like Harada. The panels were all fun. Also pretty good English guests too.
>EDM Saturday night
That was probably the highlight of the event for me. The DJs were all great, especially liked Yuce. Taku Takahashi I love and he played some great songs. I missed Naoki because I was too tired to stay late but I heard he was great and played DDR songs. Wish I could have made it.
