not really. Here's what happened
Our group is composed of
>Half-orc Zealot Barbarian
>Halfling Druid, circle of the Spores
>Dragonborn Rogue Swashbuckler
>Dragonborn Celestial Warlock (me)
We're all level 6, and we had to 1v1.
Dice were rolled to determine who's facing who.
>Warlock vs Rogue
During my match, I just abused armor of agathys to wear the rogue down whilst healing up as BA. Needless to say, the rogue player was NOT thrilled.
>Druid vs Barbarian
>druid won by spamming bears and holding concentration lol
>finals is me vs druid
>he wins initiative
>he walks up to me and summons 2 bears
>use wand of magic missile to break his concentration
>he transforms into sporeforme
>i walk away and cast fly and fly away
>I can see the look of despair in his face
>he gets a silly idea that he wants to summon 2 bears on top of me (I'm 60ft up in air, summon spell range is 60ft)
>argue that the bears would appear next to me but would instantly fall
>DM says that he can summon them and they'll fall on their turn
>its my turn
>i disengage in air and fly even further away
>bears turn
>they splat on the ground but dont die right away
>druid tries to chill touch me
>fail
>at this point I hover over 150 ft, swoon down to 120, eldritch blast, then fly back up
>he wants his bear to throw him up 40 feet in the air to try and cast spells at me
>had an argument on whether bears can have the coordination to do such a thing
>bears fail athletics to throw him anyways on the first try, but the second one could pick the tiefling up and try again instantly
>DM is bored, druid is looking nervous and demoralized
>eventually druid lands a hit on me but i dont lose my concentration
>i keep killing the bears
>land a single EB crit on the druid
>he gives up
>dm thanks him
>everyone leaves awkwardly
at this point im having a huge autist moment because i won but it didn't feel like a victory at all. What was I supposed to do,let the bears maul me to death? what was the right move there?
