>No, sadly I haven't read any of the Stoics
Oh man, Italy... This is your bag... "Meditations", and if you want some contemporary application, then Ryan Holiday's books, I've read "Ego Is The Enemy" and "Stillness Is The Key", and "Let Them" by Mel Robbins, I read that too, which is an even more broad brush.... I dig it...Organized nicely and easy to read, not so much deciphering, like with other kinds of philosophical books.

>Cioran
Never heard of 'em.. I'm interested and will take a look..

>and our modern craving to "find" meaning is more something like a sickness,
Woah, that's a wild idea.. Interesting..
>Greece and Rome, did not have our same existential doubts and took life for what it is
Hmm.. Yet, they're home to some of the greatest wonderers?
>"I am glad I see with my eyes and not the pages I read".
That's a really interesting line... Does he mean that he's glad he can experience reality, rather than a second-hand account of it? Like Plato's shadows on the wall? I'm not entirely sure what that line means..
