I disagree with this. If BL only all about fluffy romance and sex, it would just be boring and make the genre feel stale. BL should include any male homosexuality as its main focus, regardless whether it focused on the romance or not

I actually genuinely fucking loved I Am Setsuna and it makes me sad that it having Chrono Trigger adjacent gameplay led to people calling it "the new Chrono Trigger" before it released only for Chrono Trigger fans to get pissed off because it was the exact opposite of Chrono Trigger in presentation and tone since its whole fucking gimmick is about being a sad game with a piano-only soundtrack in a snow-only region, and that hate it got became its legacy.
