Steam world Heist and counter strike 2. Betting a little better at aiming. got a few kills with the revolver last match. Latest update ruins the ancient map, now the CTs are harder to spot.

I was hoping mafia the old country wouldn't be so bad but i guess that was too much to hope for.

Replayed a few PS2 classics not too long ago, like burnout 3 and midnight club 3 and they were better than i remembered. So was the punisher game.

Picked up Romancing Saga 1 remake-remaster recently and its decent. Certainly better than most new shit.
Planning on playing Romancing Saga 2 remake as well since I love The Last Remnant and it's the same director and everyone says that its better than the 1st one.
Also, replayed Grandia xtreme and my god its complete dogshit. I used to autistically play it when I was 5 but never beat it. It's a literal dungeon crawler with zero enemy variety. The only interesting thing about this game is bosses but you have to go through like 1000 mob fights to get to each of them. The combat system itself isnt bad but lack of enemy variety just kills the vibe. Will try to finish it later, I'll probably need another 3 hours to do that. Or maybe I'll replay Grandia II since I have warm fuzzy memories associated with it.

yeah, I agree. same look as the games I was already playing at the time. Just bigger, more physics, more gameplay mechanics. Not necessarily more life-like, from a graphical standpoint.

Command and Conquers, Warcraft 3 before the faggotry at LAN parties, Pre-Steam DoD and CS and The Specialists and Vampire Slayer at LAN parties, just about everything from the late 90s up to 2002ish. A real golden age of gaymen.

Looking for Space Hulk 2, Total Warhammer 4 or Total Warhammer40k, that fan game spinoff of Earthbound that supposedly got struck down a bunch of times but is secretly picked back up, waiting for X4 to stop dragging it's feet so my Star Wars interworld mod can finally reach it's full potential; basically just a bunch of shit that will never happen any time soon.

Nothing will ever beat that first playthrough of FF7 and friends borrowing different discs, or taking turns with friends trying to beat Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors on PS2 or any sort of internet gaming after the 2000s when Brazil and Asia started spreading like a disease.

It's 100% optional and almost irrelevant, unless you want to fight in the arena. In that case, grinding materials is necessary to max out your vehicles.
I played through the entire story without bothering to grind for materials and still got almost everything I needed to beat the game organically. I think my tank was around level 25 after defeating the final boss, and I didn’t bother crafting parts since I got really good ones from other bots.
You can also exchange very common materials (which you collect in large quantities just by running over things or defeating enemies) for rare materials, which makes things a lot easier.

I've been playing Fumes and the Lord of the Rings Crusader Kings 3 mod. CK3 is still a frustrating experience. Fumes is fantastic value, good mindless fun.

Not really. The information pipeline is busted since ((((games journalists)))) are just an extension of the failing AAA section of the industry and I pretty much only like indie games these days. I have to wait until they've been released and get some popularity to turn up here or wherever else on the internet for me to discover them. Ironically, Twitch helps with that.

I don't think any that I've actually wanted to replay have proven to be bad. Eg. Warcraft 3 is one of my childhood games and it's a classic. But I didn't have my own PC until 10 and before that I'd only played Diablo 1+2, C&C and Half Life at my uncles.

Also beat Rita's Rewind recently. That was fun, but short and kind of easy. It has a continues system that deletes your save, but i never used any.

I replayed Jak and Daxter and Jak II via OpenGOAL in 4k recently and it was pretty amazing, total nostalgia trip. It led me to buying a used PS4 to play Jak 3, Jak X, Daxter, etc and that's when I found out that Playstation has its own gamepass with every good Sony game on it. I finally played the two most recent God of War games, am planning to play Shadow of the Colossus and all the Team Ico games, and Ghost of Tsushima. Best vidya purchase I've made in a while.

The quips in the 3-series are so good

Saints Row 2 with the Juiced patch, it feels incredible to play the game at 60 FPS with no issues. The driving and shooting really are better than those of any GTA. I wish there was a mod to make gang wars more frequent though.

Jupiter Hell Classic, just finished my first run with the technician class. It's pretty much DoomRL with slightly more content and more polish. Hopefully the devs will expand it a lot more.

Yes, both cutscene animations/timing and audio issues are fixed. The patch also improves performance and fixes some graphical errors in the PC port. Pretty much the only thing missing now is the console exclusive DLC content.

Skyrim, world of Warcraft and Pokemon emerald on my emulator handheld

I play Fate/Grand Order daily and unironically love it. I sit in the park for an hour on my lunch break and do my dailies. It's also been nice to have a community of people to talk about it with. I used to be hardcore anti-gacha but I guess it broke me, having a low effort game on my phone like that is nice for down time at work.

In terms of non-mobile stuff though, I basically gave up competitive multiplayer games in my late 20s (will occasionally play a round or two very casually though) and now exclusively play single player stuff. Currently been playing Slay the Spire a lot and current goal is beating the heart with all four classes (just did my third one literally before posting this). Otherwise I've recently been trying to play classics I've never played before, recently finished MGS1 and 2 for the first time and they're awesome.

Halo MCC, currently at Halo 3. It's definitely the weaker of the trilogy and they really went overboard with the amount of enemies in certain sections, which I believe it's because the game was designed as a co-op game in mind. On the other hand, I expected to be fighting with Arbiter in all the missions, but he just disappears after the first one and then he briefly rejoins me later on, it is honestly disappointing. Added to that, taking away my double Needler is unforgivable.

Now that I think about it, Goldeneye 64. I played it on 00 Agent difficulty once it was released on NSO, but even after remapping the controller, the game really feels outdated. It doesn't help that I got stuck in Train because that level is downright ridiculous, there are no body armors and the requirement to get all the mission objectives all boil down to being fast enough to save Natalya and shoot Xenya before the gate closes, and the wonky precise aim doesn't help at all.

I've beaten Sid Meier's Pirates (2004) in one day yesterday using an Indian War Canoe/fencer start skill exploit, I've not fired a single cannon shell, I retired with 860000 gold after 19 years at the sea, after 300000 gold, the crew stops complaining and you effectively have infinite time.

I basically had no safety net whatsoever until 30 because I was a dumbfuck NEET, but since I started work I've tried to give myself a relatively easy maintainable consistent way to build one. Since I live with family I just contribute a bit more than a third of my wage to paying for bills and shit, and then another third goes directly into an index fund. Something broke in my last night and just got bored/tired of modded Skyrim and I uninstalled everything. Just finished Wuchang and recently started Pathfinder WotR. Wuchang was alright, it really was just Dark Souls but Chinese and didn't bring anything new to the table but what was there was done competently. Not sure I'm digging WotR so far, I played Rogue Trader before and enjoyed the writing in that but the writing feels a lot more quippy in WotR.

This summer, stuck with a fairly old laptop in the middle of nowhere, I've been playing VtM:B and Void War and replaying Mass Effect and Vice City, all of which I've enjoyed immensely.
I don't really follow new releases anymore as I've already got a library of hundreds of games I wouldn't be able to play in my lifetime. Void War is pretty much the only 2025 game I have, second newest would be Armored Core 6 (which is also great, but I need my proper rig back to play it).

I've gone back to play things like C&C, Crusader: No Remorse, No One Lives Forever to name a few and honestly I can't say I think any worse of them. If anything, I enjoyed the experience more since I'm better at games than my kid self was, not to mention much more fluent in English so I can actually understand what the game wants me to do.
The hard part nowadays is actually trying something new. For instance, AC6 and VtMB sat installed and unplayed on my drive for months, but once I finally forced myself to launch them, the experience of new vidya was just as fun and fulfilling as it was in my youth.

Recently went back to replay Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle. Both are still as magical as i remember, and while Dark Cloud is a little basic, its very satisfying, with an excellent weapon upgrade system. And the music, holy shit. Dark Chronicle doesnt have a single bad music track. Just superb all around. If you want the low effort, safe returns, then just invest in an index fund. These are specifically funds that invest in all the major stocks. Well I played BF6 into the ground. The suppressed m4 and shotty are absolutely nuts. The second DMR wasnt as cool as I had hoped.

I enjoyed the beta, but Im not sure if Ill get bf6 at release. They need to pull a rabbit out with some insane shit to really sell it. They may be able to. The base game is fun, but it just needs some actual huge maps and better balance to be worth it.
