Got a question does anyone else get the impression that Final Fantasy Remake as a whole is a failure for Square Enix?

Even with the first part when Square Enix said it sold seven million physical copies I doubted that. I just don't feel....convinced.

To me it seems like Square Enix is lying about how successful Final Fantasy 7 Remake is. And worse Square Enix said that there's interest in more FF7 spin offs after Remake. But I doubt there's interest in those. Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core's remaster with the new graphics didn't wow people.

As an individual my only take is that Square Enix is lying about how successful FF7 is as a general brand because once the final part is released the house of cards will crumble. And I don't think Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest are enough to justify the Square Enix gaming division existing. And you have to remember that Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest aren't FULLY owned by Square Enix either money is divided on those franchises compared to Final Fantasy which SE gets all the profit.

I think what pisses me off the most about this double alternate reality where Aerith bled to death from the sword injury to she not being harmed is that THIS alternate reality nonsense is also infecting Kingdom Hearts.

There's two realities in Kingdom Hearts one where Sora loses to Yozora and a different one where Sora wins against Yozora. And I have to ask why is this even being allowed? Alternate realities in Square Enix games have been a DISASTER as early as Chrono Cross.

Anyone remember that game? Alternate Realities are confusing messes of bad writing. It killed Chrono and it WILL kill Final Fantasy 7 and Kingdom Hearts. Nomura and Nojima you never do alternate realities.

And here's the bad thing about Nomura you know how in movies or comic books when something becomes shitty it gets rebooted into something good? Batman and Robin was a bad movie and it killed the franchise of Batman films until Nolan rebooted the franchise into a new successful series of movies. That's not what Nomura does, Nomura allows the series to get bad and he will continue maintaining the bad writing, bad continuity, convoluted mess into one product. Nomura does not admit mistakes were made and instead insists on doing the wrong thing repeatedly. That's what has damaged Kingdom Hearts in the long term.

And this is why I think Kingdom Hearts 4 is going to sell like shit. After so many years of bad ideas and bullshit I think the fandom has largely grown up burned out and no longer care about Kingdom Hearts. And newcomers have less reason to care about a convoluted old series. So Kingdom Hearts 4 will probably sell terribly.

One final thing, Final Fantasy's latest games have sold disappointingly for Square Enix and the Final Fantasy brand has always been the best pillar franchise Square Enix has sales wise. Kingdom Hearts is usually considered the third pillar series, if Final Fantasy has disappointing sales in recent times then Kingdom Hearts will start to sell abysmal by default.

We are witnesses the death of Kingdom Hearts. And I don't blame Disney for mismanagement.

And its clear Nomura and Nojima don't care about how they have tarnished Kingdom Hearts so there is no hope for recovery. Kingdom Hearts as a series was handled by a bunch of hacks who grabbed a seemingly simply concept and made it a convoluted mess and worse one that always ends on a habitual CLIFFHANGER!!!

That is a horrible way to construct anything. A comics? A movie? A series? A gaming series in this case. Now its such a long lasting convoluted abomination that by default its difficult to market the series EVEN if you sell the Kingdom Hearts All in One Collection. And keep in mind the All in One Collection does NOT include everything that you need to understand every subplot of Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts could have been one of those timeless series you can always recommend even nowadays you still convince a new gamer to play something like Devil May Cry 3 or Metal Gear Solid 3 its easy. Kingdom Hearts? Even if you play the first game in the timeline its such a fucking mess from the get go that you will be rendered confused and if you don't click with it you won't go for the sequels. And the gameplay overall is somewhat shoddy and inconsistent. And all this because Nojima and Nomura decided to be hacks.

If Kingdom Hearts had tight handling on how its constructed it would still be considered a beloved gaming series. Too bad they allowed many bad ideas, like scattering the whole fucking series to different handhelds which objectively confused the ENTIRE costumer base and worse those handheld games are indeed important to the main console sequels. I just can't.

And I think Kingdom Hearts 4 is headed to be a MAJOR failure for Square Enix. I just don't see a world where that bloated sequel ends up a success especially since its the BEGINNING to a new story arc so it HAS to end on another cliffhanger by default. And Nomura and Nojima still don't care about how much they are tanking Kingdom Hearts.

I think Sora is deleted from the roster. He's popular and he's easy to implement since Disney is supportive. And once a character makes it into Smash its easy to negotiate their return since Nomura's autism was sorted out.

The problem with Sora is......his game series has become shitty. And not shitty like Sonic in that Sonic still has loyal autists who love Sonic FOR BEING SHIT. No no no, Kingdom Hearts became shit like Asssassin's Creed and is dying and becoming heavily unpopular for real. Kingdom Hearts 3 disappointed a chunk of people. And even now a bunch of side mobile games are important to understand the main console games so that's going to create roadblocks. Basically Kingdom Hearts is on route to failure. And it doesn't help Disney keeps making shitty movies like Encanto or Raya or Turning Red. Whatever goodwill Disney used to have with their classics and Renaissance movies that shit is gone. Kingdom Hearts ran out of fuel.

So I don't see any given reason to keep Sora in Smash when his series has become way too flawed. And here's the kicker you know how game series can turn bad and developers reboot them into being better which is how Sonic the Hedgehog has survived? Kingdom Hearts is the opposite Nomura does NOT reboot. Nomura intentionally keeps the entire shit show united into one linear continuous product of continuity. There is no corporate attempt at correction. So Kingdom Hearts became bad and is staying bad.
