There's trolls and brainlets all over the place but I never got the impression that most verso pickers thought the lumierens weren't real, thinking intelligences. In threads like these, though, you get the people with dumb opinions repeating them often and loudly.

>Do I give a shit about my mother? Nope! Just need her back for muh war
>Do I give a shit about my father? Nope! Just need her back for muh war
>Do I give a shit about my sister? Nope! Just need her out of my way for muh war
>Should I help my dad overpowr my mom and pull her out ASAP? Nope! Let them duke it out
>Should I make a direct path to the paintress lined with powerful nevrons that instagib expeditioners? Nope! I'll paint fanciful monsters to kill them in brutal ways
>Should I paint over Aline's most vital asset - painted renoir? Nope! That would make this too easy
>Should I be bothered by what I interpret as a soulless simulacrum of myself being in a relationship with another painted person? YES YES YES I MUST TORTURE THEM RAAAAGH
Clea is dealing with her grief as badly as the rest of the family. Aline failed as a father. Renoir had no choice but to stop her because her actions were actively killing her. Clea could've helped more directly and quickly but is just as fucked up as everyone else.

I agree, and I think her own process of dealing with her grief stopped her from doing the most rational thing: Teaming up with dad to yank mom out by her hair. I think she's using her self-assigned role as warmaster to keep her mind busy. She loved Verso, too.

Flying manor and the reacher, and probably the lune/sciel friendship quests, really make the ending more meaningful. But doing them before the ending also massively overpowers you, so yeah, that's definitely a flaw in my opinion too. I did everything including Simon before Renoir and the final bossfight did not amaze me like it should have.

>If the authors wanted to make the story about a family dealing with grief where the correct ending
They did not, there was no interest in making a "correct ending." You can stop feeling asshurt ANY time, but you won't.

>maybe you can find another way".
If that way was just telling Maelle what was up, painted Alicia could've done that. Apparently it wasn't that important to her.

>aline, mad with grief, paints her daughter how she looks, but also with white hair
>this means that she forever hates her real daughter
