diehards cannot admit that Pokemon has legitimately dealbreaker flaws because this would mean they are dedicating themselves to something made like shit intentionally and not because Gamefreak "doesn't know any better" would be an unignorable black spot on their personal enjoyment

they would rather spend their time obsessively defending the most barebones piece of shit that gets thrown at them because the alternative is knowing that they are liking something objectively terrible and having to admit they are wrong
