>Again I must emphasize that monsters do not care about what a monster looks like.
You're making this assumption based on the extremely idealistic happy ending of Undertale
If Alphys didn't think people would have a problem with their loved ones being melted into Amalgamates she wouldn't fucking kill herself rather than come forward with the truth in most endings
>why the secrecy?
Whatever solution there is to Dess's problem it obviously involves the Dark World, and the Dark World is a secret to everybody for the very good reason that if people used it maliciously or irresponsibly it could easily cause the end of the world.
The conspiracy is following The Prophecy, where everyone involved has a role to play. Susie and Ralsei don't need to know what's going on to fulfill their role, and if they knew it would probably create problems. Remember that Carol is a control freak and hostile to outsiders getting involved in her shit.
Also remember that YOU are a key player here, and everyone who knows about YOU (besides Kris) seems intent on not breaking the illusion that YOU are Kris and you're just the hero who seals the fountains. Both Carol and Ralsei want to maintain kayfabe and have YOU keep playing along with their game, because if you lose interest and abandon the world, everyone dies.
>why the violence? why is the Knight okay with seriously harming Susie and Ralsei
They're not seriously harmed, she just knocks them out.
>and risking starting the Roaring?
There's no risk of that. It won't happen until the Prophecy says it will, and considering how effective the Black Shard alone is The Knight probably could have killed the Titan it summoned with ease using its Black Knife.
>why the consistent emphasis on her being "lost" if she is no way lost
"Lost" has like a dozen meanings and it's an apt description just on the basis of her getting lost in the forest and going into the Shelter
