So, I think we might experience a soft-reboot or reboot entirely now that Hussie has given the chance.
Think about it, he managed to purge out most, if not all, the archived Homestuck stuff and has given an opportunity for a clean slate but in animated form entirely. His work before and towards the middle to the end has been actively manipulated by outside forces on what he'd like and that will be a game changer now, he can do whatever he wants as creator/writer, and this is assuming he has full creative control as well.
But, it's also important to keep in mind most of his mindset drastically changed throughout the years, some references may feel "dated" and he might switch around a few things, assuming we even get to the point of nu-trolls and if they aren't fully scrapped.
It's a make or break deal, though it pends more on breaking as the characters might get flanderized for the sake of being a proper cartoon now, for instance, Dave was fairly deadpan early on with rarely showing emotions, having him in the trailer making faces already felt... Wrong.
I'm not sure how to take it, we might witness Homestuck being publicly gutted even more, now in a retroactive level.

I have a mod pack for The Sims 4 with all the most deeply disturbing mods one could possibly find. Once a year I'll install the game again, install the mod pack and spend 2-3 hours masturbating, the feeling that comes next is something indescribable, like paint being mixed, to create something new; I then delete the game and again hide the mod pack, feeling something akin to a deep shame but not shameful enough that I would delete and never again try to assemble it. One day though, that feeling fades, and I forget how horrifying it was and is, then I do it all over again.
