World of warcraft was never good. It released into a vacuum with no competition that wasn't six years old or more at that point. You just played it because everyone else was as a kid and it imprinted on an entire generation. I didn't even like it but still have a certain fondness for it that's pure nostalgia, which evaporates entirely within five minutes of logging in and experiencing the reality of it.

People only still play it because to not do so is to accept that it was all a complete waste of time in the first place. Its still a complete waste of time, read a book or something.
