I'm convinced Papyrus is going to show up next chapter, so far one of the few theories that wasn't disproven but was instead strengthen was that the dark worlds are parallel to undertale in reverse order, next being Snowdin, the ending of chapter 4 had Sans being set up as someone important for the next chapter at the very least, there's been a suspicious lack of papyrus but in chapter 4 it's mention that the trousle of bones can't be heard from the house which is strange since Papyrus is known for not sleeping, he's doing something such as helping set up for the festival, I wouldn't even be surprised if the next dark world ended up being a forest due to it being hinted that the next dark world is at flower king, I'm convinced that in the weird route that we'll freeze that dark world making it similar to in style to snowdin while Papyrus is somehow involved
