The stats are greatly compressed - again, I didn't say it would be the same sort of game or as good - but they are there, and I'd argue that the ones people actually care about and which make a difference in the game are still there. It was very rare in VTMB for "haggling" to come up, the things that mattered were having Dominate or Thaumaturgy, the generic social skills for seduction/persuasion, etc. I don't remember "Stamina" ever appearing in dialogue.

I am actually quite interested in this game because it doesnt have BS gear stats and shit like that. I dont mind no guns etc, I seen you can use the enemies telepathically so its essentially a magic and brawler based game depending on the clan you pick. i do hope we can get a sword or something though so its more like a dishonored game. To me the RPG aspects of the game seem more like CP2077 than a more complex RPG. Which I am fine with.

As far as I can tell from that gameplay and from the wiki.
SO you gain ability points as you level, XP as usual, then there is "blood points" and you need certain amounts of 3 different blood points to level certain skills. These different type of point come from dialogue choices and manipulating the emotions of the people you then feed off of.
Certain skills that are locked to certain clans can only be accessed by feeding on certain people of the clans and only by manipulating them in dialogue or possibly optional or main quest choices etc.
Again i only know from that faggots gameplay and the wiki page.
Either way its a more unique RPG in that regard than the usual loot cycle bullshit.

I have never played the 1st game but from what I have seen of this game it looks like the appeal of the game is the whole vampire and the masquerade to keep humans in the dark about vamps rather than combat and loot etc like other RPGs.

I won't get my hopes up, anon. Considering it's getting The Chinese Room treatment. It'll be a feeble attempt at a VtM game with tryhard mechanics that will attempt to appeal to the original audience without knowing what made it work in the first place, or having the dev experience or knowledge to implement it correctly. At worst it'll be a vampire walking simulator with tacked-on, weak, combat mechanic which is appearent from the videos of the gameplay that were released already imo. Also, the hands are too close to eachother making the first-person pov look weird and off focus, am I the only one who sees it? Don't get me wrong, I want it to be good or at least avarage, doing it's own thing, but past experience with that studio says it'll flop and under-deliver on its gameplay and storytelling ability; it's a very ambitious project for that studio to undertake considering their proven abilities and knowledge in game design already. At least we've got the original; that is good enough for me. And if the new one will be at least a 6 or a 7 out of 10 like Outer Worlds was, I'll be content with it. Nos Gengrel Tremere and Malk are my personal favorites with Toreador kinda being what I view as the default with Brujah and Ventrue being two different extremes that feels like offshoots of Toreador for my money.

I want to point out that the Hardsuit Labs version didn't have an inventory either. And guns were temporary pickups. You couldn't reload them or anything. Melee weapons were temporary pickups that broke after a few hits.

YES this is a very different game overall. Where the Hardsuit concept was more Deus Ex, this is more Dark Messiah. Stealth in HSL's was to avoid combat. Stealth in TCR's is to kill people from the shadows. It's different.

A person with industry connections on Reddit has explained what happened to Hardsuit's Bloodlines 2. Basically, Paradox gave HSL a huge amount of leeway, and the game was completely off the rails.

The Outer Worlds was the most horribly "just avarage" game I've ever played. The world is beautiful for a while and then meh as you go to the same places over and over again. Everything in this game seems to be there just to check a box and is imlpemented in the most minimum-effort way possible.
