The end of the season teases "Obey Your Master" (play on the IRL "Pay the Butler") as the next big challenge even as they're hammering home what a strong rival Tamamo Cross is.
If you liked season 2, you'll love CinGrey. Different art, different tone. Honestly a breath of fresh air after season 3 of PD.

In the long run it’s less work to get the attributes you want for a CM, which is S distance/terrain and good blue sparks. The random stat boosts, skill hints, G1 sparks and guaranteed double circle affinity helps as well to really make the training process that much more fluid, which removes a lot of frustration and you wont be limited to borrows either. Eventually your bred umas will breed with your other strong umas and you’ll wind up with 9 star umas of your own if you curate them properly. In the long run it will really pay off and its not that hard to get set up, it doesnt take as long as you think. You can take it as far as you want and only go for blue sparks, or you can go for pink. Will you go for g1s and abilities? optional, but it always helps to win g1s in careers either way for breeding umas. You dont even have to go for 7-9 spark parents. You can be even lazier and settle for 5-6 spark parents but they will be more useful than whatever random shit you throw together. It should be done thoughtfully over time, so figure out the systems if you intend on trying to win, as even in B class it will only get more competitive over time

Well yeah, sparks can guarantee random values of 1-30 something. There’s more randomness to it, but not every “perfect” pokemon is so easy to breed, especially if you want them to inherit a move that’s going to be a bitch in the ass to pass down. I never got too deep into pokemon breeding as it was extremely tedious, took forever (cycling around waiting for eggs to hatch), then actually EV training them is also boring as sin, especially in the older games when less QOL stuff existed. I did breed some good pokemon, I had fun with the few I did, but I never made the perfect ditto or whatever and lost interest. I just dont think breeding is pokemon’s strength, although if they wanted to they could make it a lot more fun while keeping the complexity. Nobody wants to cycle around in circles waiting for a fucking egg to hatch. Training umas is fun, the game is designed around it. Breeding in pokemon as it is was more of a bonus feature, and theyve been very slow to streamline the process. If you like OG Dragonball Goku you'll like probably Oguri, but if you don't like incredibly, intensely dumb singleminded characters with extremely minor emotional beats you're not gonna get a lot out of her. When I watched S2 Teio wasn't my favourite character, but she at least HAD a lot of character and they had a lot to hang around her, Kitasan was the same. Oguri's down there with Special Week, but at least Special Week had a strong supporting cast (Suzuka, Gold Ship and McQueen especially).

CG is essentially just following an incredibly overpowered protagonist head into a new place and easily defeat almost* everyone she comes across. It's fine for what it is, but when Oguri is so extremely simpleminded it's not exactly particularly compelling.

Aside from requiring 1200 Stam and at least 1000 Speed to even be able compete, you also need Finishing Spurt to be relevant at all, which means using a weak support card for a rare skill, over and over and over.

And then you get to the race and because of the course design the entire pack will be bunched together in the last corner (the current one thins the pack by comparison) which means that you've got a huge chance of just getting boxed, regardless of your power or even if you can afford to pick up the movement skills. Who cares about the cast if all them are fumbled. Basically everyone in Team Spica has been flanderized. Even fucking Gold Ship's retirement race lacked any tension or impact because of how haphazardly it was thrown into Kitasan's plot.

And S3 is still worse than CinGrey, RttT and BoaNE. It tried to repeat the S2 format but it's main cast were inferior at every turn and the "extra cast" of Umas barely got any attention other than brief mentions. S2 had Helios/Palmer and Rice/Bourbon and all of the shenanigans with Team Canopus that really helped it shine. In comparison, S3 had a few throwaway scenes thrown at Satono Crown and Duramente that ultimately went nowhere interesting and they just fizzed out to nothing; Cheval Grand that they tried to make into some Kitasan/Cheval rivalry for all of 5 minutes that felt random and contrived as fuck and don't get me started on the literal who that Sounds of Earth was. Why they wasted any scenes on SoE or included her in the OP at all still confuses me
