It might have been from her father, since we know that monsters are going through some weird mutations after constantly mating with humans. The pure dragon tribe is going to go extinct because of it, as well as the Lorelei and other ancient monsters that are disappearing as their species becomes a more uniform species, i.e. more human.

It was probably a slow crawl to extinction. Pure dragons still have pure dragon children, but they are becoming fewer and fewer. That dragon girl might be one of few left, and could be the last generation before they hit the point of no return.
The other ancient monster species are probably in the same boat, since they mention that seeing them is super rare, even in company of their current descendants.

Saja made harpies close to dinos first, before they evolved into the ones we have today. Hiruko spawned some weird insect combo monster before their genes split up into different incest species. Tamamo made typical kitsune, but also the tanuki and the taur counterparts. Kanon created a shit load of plants, that got far more docile, or downright more tree like. Kanade is in the same boat as Kanon too. It's really just Minagi who seemed to have made a natural template, and that template lasted for thousands of years, at least until the 7DS fucked their genetics, and made vampires.

I usually equip/build a character by feel rather than what's optimal. In my mind, dual-shielding just limits the way I imagine the character operating, which makes using them feel shitty.

In the og timeline, they're both disillusioned mass (debatable for Marcellus) murderers who regret (some for Lucifina) of the things they've done in the past.
I'd agree that Singularity Marcellus and merged Lucifina don't have much chemistry though. But in that case, Marcellus is a bit touched with the chaos tism and Lucifina seems to have come out of the merging with the angelic dominion version being the dominant personality.

It's worth noting that AW!Lucifina is explicitly shown to have been one of the individuals who didn't become merged with other versions of themselves. As the Singularity Lucifina passed away and MW!Lucifina was long since destroyed, and Lucy-Chan literally dies in front of everybody when she and her sister fell into the primordial chaos and pretty much melted right in-front of Eden (thanks Lagos), AW!Lucifina is the only version of herself from the three worlds that's still alive. It's implied that S!Lucifina's original soul was funneled into the MW like Michela's was, so Lucy-Chan was only made from remnants the original soul left behind, but when Lagos Lagos'd all over the worlds AW!Lucifina ended up finding the original soul and it's implied it's because they were drawn to each other; however, she makes it clear she didn't merge with it, and she couldn't have, because right after she explains all of this AW!Lucifina literally hands the soul over to the S/MW merged version of Michela and basically tells her to pick up the sword and stop being a crybaby because they're probably all gonna die soon.

S/MW!Michela is the one who merges with the original Singularity Lucifina's soul and it's the justification for why she suddenly and abruptly transforms into a total edgelord. Also the S!Lucy's soul is apparently so dark it's WORSE THAN THE ANGEL WORLD ONE and given how unhinged AW!Lucy is that's saying a lot.

Merged was probably not the best word to use, but at the end of the day, AW!Lucifina says she'd already started regaining her S! and (I'm assuming) MW! memories. At least in my mind, that's still a merging even if the actual souls didn't merge. Since she already had the memories and was still at her peak, the soul was kind of useless for her. Might as well give it to Micaela who was no longer at her peak.

Her trait isn't bad though. She just sucks at anything that isn't club, axe, white magic, and holy. And all those are just really boring and underdeveloped skill types. Club skills only come in physical, ice, earth, and the one lightning skill, but she won't get that cause she's not a zombie. She's not a minotaur, so she doesn't get their elemental axe skills. White magic has a grand total of four offensive spells for most of the game. Holy's fine, but you already have Luka and possibly Ilias outshining her in that department. Taoism's a possibility, but doing actual damage with it will require attack magi, and even then she'll basically be playing back up to luka who probably already has it covered with tao swordsman skills. Elemental fist skills are a nice alternative to spellblade, but like spellblade skills, whatever you're hitting is probably going to be dead by the time you get them up and running. She CAN use black magic, but the club's probably going to outperform them the vast majority of the time.

it's still kinda surprising just how much evidence there is that remains of what this sidequest was supposed to be like, so it must have been scrapped really late in the development. Baal Zebub's sex scene is even from this original incarnation of herself in a completely antithetical way to how she's used in the final game and even her skill dialogue such as her talk skills contains cut references to this arc that never was. All while also tying her back to the original three as well.

If all of the sex scenes were canon, then this island would be FLOODED with his children. Just in case the reference was lost on anyone, Nephilim is just Estark from Dragon Quest IV. He is an iconic mid-game boss, which is a parallel to how Giganto Weapon was based on Atma Weapon from Final Fantasy VI.

Despite having a few beetle-like traits, Estark has never been classified as an Insect monster. He generally focuses on sword and breath attacks, so Nephilim is a faithful adaptation. I doubt that she was ever meant to be an insect girl.

I've actually talked about this before, but you're half right. Nephilim is mostly inspired by two different designs, and I learned of them both from the japanese wiki. And one of them was the part that paired with Baal Zebub as a Saint Seiya reference (Scorpio Milo), which fits Pabilsag. Nephilim was also created at the exact same time as both Baal Zebub and the normal Pabilsag Girl, and the parallels are pretty obvious between them (such as the constellation theme). On top of that, Nephilim's overworld files actually classify her as a DEMI-HUMAN.

Despite this however, even though Nephilim is supposed to specialize in multi-weapon skills, and Demi-Human extensively supposes this, Nephilim does not actually have Demi-Human as a race, nor Insect, and Nephilim does not even have Yoma when Estark is supposed to be a Demon King!

If Nephilim was always supposed to be Erstaz-Estark then why is she not a Demon? There's plenty of races to fill that spot like Yoma or Demi-Human, and Demi-Human again fits with Pabilsag and Saint Seiya due to having their shared motifs. Nephilim's dialogue also tends to describe her as though she's more like Giganto Weapon.

I honestly think there was originally supposed to be an Omega Weapon Girl who was meant to be the original counterpart to the Giganto, as Omega and Ultima/Atma are an iconic pair and the two sometimes have similar designs. Giganto also has the exact same races as Nephilim, with the addition of Beast, and they suit her far more. But trtr already had to have cut down on a lot.

Since Nephilim's original role in the game was axed, and trtr was pressed for time, instead of hiring someone to make the Omega Weapon Girl he just salvaged Nephilim to retool her into the replacement. And I'm grateful for it, her new role still works fine since Estark IS an iconic Superboss, but it's definitely not what she started as.

Again, Estark has always used sword and breath attacks. Getting the Dragon race makes sense for that. And Estark is not really a demon king, he's the ultimate lifeform. Chimera/Dragon/Giant fits him perfectly. Nephilim also has his classic weakness to Sleep.

Chimera fits that, I think, so I feel that race still makes a lot of sense. Chimera also learns Breath Attacks in it's own right (iirc it gets the strongest one even) so she wouldn't have even needed Dragon to have them.

Also, while I do believe what I'm saying, regardless of that her final version and the boss fight with her in the game is still 100% Estark by the time we actually get to see her. Of course she's weak to sleep by that point. It'd kind of be silly to not go all the way with it.

That much I know was definitely not the case, because thanks to all the leftover remains of Baal Zebub there's actually a lot you can infer about what her original questline might've possibly been like. She's both clarified as being distinct from her daughters the Beelzebubs and the remains of her dialogue lines have her specifically refer to herself as the Lord of the Flies, and she refers to the others as "On a ship with MY Followers", just like how her daughters the Beelzebubs were sealed on that boat, so she was without question a singular individual and their ruler. She even has a ghost story, just like all three of the Bub Sisters do. She also speaks of capturing a man for breeding purposes herself, which is completely in-line with the original problem of Baal Zebub and the Beelzebubs with their incredibly rapid and uncontrollable reproduction, but it's completely at odds with her later characterization as the Hive Mind, who doesn't even grasp why someone would want to breed in the first place and thinks she's beyond that. It's honestly awesome just how much I've been able to learn about her, and while she was already one of my favorite Calamities this has elevated her to the position of the one I'm actually looking forward to recruiting the most just to see the direction trtr takes her newfound incarnation. I'm glad that trtr was able to still keep her in.

While I'm thinking about this, since NLK and Echidna are the other two that most people seem to generally agree were also repurposed older designs, someone had asked me to look into them as well in the past, but there's still not much to go off of.
There are a couple of lines from Echidna that still kinda sticks out to me though, where she describes herself as having friends, and how a friend of hers had picked up "that meteorite". Given Echidna is now a microscopic hive-mind STD that can't even interact with anybody much less communicate with them until the gang gets shrunken down to her size, that definitely seems to be pretty out of place. She also makes a 'Phantom of the Opera' reference of all things, and she actually has several other lines that involve theatre or stage direction.

...wait, actually, now that I think about it, the Pabilsags and the like are all found in the Sabasa desert, and that's always where Hiruko, the Insect Ancestor, had her territory claimed. It's a logical location for at least some part of this ancient blood feud to have occurred. And the only place I can think of with an actual theatre that you're able to go to is Grandeur, which is in the Sabasa region. Echidna's theatre references would fit in there on a stage or similar location like that, since in the old version of the map San Ilia was a smoking crater, and Echidna is very clearly insectoid in design, down to even being treated like one in the final version at times...........

thinking about it, it's pretty weird how narrow and how wide some ancestors are. This isn't the argument i'm making, though? I'm not saying each ancestor has to look exactly like their constituent parts. I even admitted in that post itself that there's no elegant solution to fitting 700 different monster girls into 7 ancestors. Levia's pretty great though, the Navy was a really fun addition to Part 2.

Now that I think of it, I know a different series that has something very similar to MGQ anchestors.
TL;DR: No plants, snakes and birds split, mammals split into two.

In the Kubera webcomic, demons are grouped into seven and a half clans, each named after the leader and with different animal themes. Demons can fluidly shift between human and monster form, so tecnically there's a bunch of monster girls. Unfortunately the girls tend to stay in human form and it's mostly the guys that turn into monsters to beat each other up.

Not with wing arms, but there's two angel-like Garuda girls. One is more phoenix-themed, the other has straight up orbital death lasers and gets slimed later on. But the focus is mostly on two male Garudas, though high ranking demons can and do change gender at will, so we might see more at some point.

I decided to check out of curiosity and as it turns out he's actually drawn a pretty sizable number of Monster Girls for TD. He's drawn both Franci and the other two Spider Girls that I've seen in this game (one is a fuzzy jumping spider and the other is an Ushi-Oni), Franci's Atlach-Nacha Form, a Sandworm that turned into a Mongolion Death Worm, a Nue, and he's even the one who drew Lucy the Scylla, which I didn't notice until I looked at her again and realized the face was his style. He's definitely done some good work with them.

She's called herself "big sister"/"onee-chan" on multiple occasions (like when she turned herself into a rollercoaster) and some of those scenes definitely make her look pretty hot damn tall. also her overworld model and default have her crouching or her legs bent and she's still about as tall as everyone else is. In the rpg sprites made for one of the collab games, they actually did seem to factor in varying height among the main four, Okyuu and Aqua.
Rin is quite short, Kuromi's next shortest but not abnormally short, Suzu, Okyuu and Selene are roughly all the same height as each other (excluding her tentacles and Suzu's flying), and Aqua is the tallest even without taking the giant crab head into account, although it's not by much until that crab gets added in, then the gap is significant.
I did compare how she looked next to the Master with Aqua to compare the size of the two together relative to full body art work just to make sure however, but indeed, those sprites are actually accurate, and they really do seem to be pretty close in height until the crab head gets factored in. Aqua's definitely larger than Okyuu is, but it's because she's, well....thicker.

She does refer to herself once as the "cute little jokester" but this is specifically when she's trying to playfully tease him after he flirts with her, and I have to imagine she's crouching down and probably striking a pose to mess with him as she is wont to do.

Paradox isn't the forefront because part 3 released, so people can't talk about it in a speculative manner anymore, but they can't talk about the actual part 3 because they have to play it for that and too many would rather wait for translation than use MTL. You also have to add all the people who must've never returned after 4chan was hacked, and possibly multiple people left when part 3 released to avoid spoilers and never returned for whatever reasons.

MMTD conversation is happening thanks to one anon playing the game and keeping the general up to date with it. Some people, such as me, engage with it because it's nice to have relevant conversation and know what all the fuzz was about with that game to make a collab with MGQ. And it actually has a lot to talk about thanks to it's ongoing story. Most monster girl games have stories that are too short or too untranslated to bring constant conversation. Even the MGQ VN alone is massive compared to Shrift and Three Charms. MGD could get the same attention as the TD game right now, but its updates come out too slow and despite it's character driven plot most girls won't get meaningful content in each update.
