Caroll Dunham did something similar in his wood paintings of the 1980s. I have painted on wood before, but I didn't incorporate the wood into the painting itself. At the time it didn't matter to me what the support was, so I painted on scraps of wood, recycled canvases, fresh canvases, paper, cardboard, pretty much anything I could get my hands on. These days I paint primarily on paper or canvas. If you have pictures of these paintings I would like to see them, if you don't mind sharing.
