Some of you might have noticed using Decimate in Planar mode with low angles produces quite tasty results a bit reminiscent of handpainted edge highlights. But also they're often a bit glitchy and the resulting geometry is absolute mess. Did anyone figured out a way to use it practically? I tried baking the normals and it kinda works but it also loses some of the punch. Are there any Blender alternatives to Planar Decimate that do something like this but better? I've only seen something similar in Substance Painter's filters/masks.

Personally, I'm drowning myself in this endeavour because of how cringe the world around us is, there's a deep sense of dissatisfaction with the way things are in general (personal life, entertainment, job market, the internet) that I prefer retreating into my own little lala land instead. Too weird to be around normal people, and too normal to be around the modern internet-going crowd: everytime I see some cocksucker repeat the same trite fucking meme like they're a human bot or someone post AI dogshit I'm this close to getting an aneurism, I'm not even 30 and I already feel so far behind modern trends nor do I have any desire to engage with them. It's a state of limbo, it's not terrible but not great either, a comfortable dissatisfaction.

I've seen a lot of people dislike it. But there is no need to hate it. Blender is an alright little utility buddy. It's not the best at anything, though it's a great helper. Personally I only use it to clean up models post CAD modeling, store my hp and lp's in seperate collections, and it's simply great for that. I like Blender.

Hey everyone,

I'm writing to ask about Patreon's practical policy regarding AI-generated content made with image-to-video features.

Grok recently updated its image-to-video function, and the performance is quite good. Most importantly, the lack of censorship makes it very useful. So, here's my idea:

I'm thinking of taking images created by other 3D artists, using them to generate 8-second video clips, and then editing and processing those clips. The plan is to stitch multiple videos together into one, using AI-based editing tools to make the transitions smooth and seamless so it doesn't look awkward (you know, matching start and end frames, etc.). I'd create several of these scenes to produce a final video that's a few minutes long and then add my own separate audio track, since Grok's voice and sound effects are pretty poor.

My main question is: Is there a realistic chance of operating a Patreon like this without getting suspended?

I'm asking because I see some precedents. For example, many games here on F95 clearly use footage from major porn labels, but they are distributed on Patreon and don't seem to get shut down.

There's also a trend with what you might call 'voice comics' or 'audio porn'—those 2D Japanese-style "gooning sessions." From what I can tell, the creators of those videos take images made by various third-party artists without any editing, add captions, and then sell the content with only their own voiceover added. It doesn't seem like they get permission from all the original artists, as they just pull images from a wide, random selection of sources.

My method so far was:
Cylinder > delete one poly column on each side so you have 4 separate pieces left > simple deform: twist on Z > duplicate and twist the same amount but other way -- but this doesnt solve the issue of how parts need to go under and above each other without having to go in and do it manually

Already looked at youtube for inspiration, but no actual solutions found

Niche af question but I'll try asking here. I'm trying to make a civ 5 mod and I can't for the life of me export an .fbx file that nexus will understand. I've tried making the mesh super small. I've made many different kinds of materials. I've used an FBX converter to convert the file to 2010 format. But nothing works. The mesh doesn't show up in 3d preview, the material doesn't show up either and neither does the animation (it's not an animation with bones, it's a ufo asset and just has a simple rotation).

All the resources I've found are from like 2010. Most bug-fixes and files I find on forums 404 when I click on them.

(The Nexus Buddy link 404s. I was able to find an exe elsewhere but it crashes on launch. So I have to do it the hard way.)

How do I connect 2 different parts without ruining the texture?
I tried "ctrl + shift + num +", which connects the whole body, but merges the textures into 1 making it look bad.
The rig works but I can't move the head or arms without a gaping hole. I tried looking up tutorials but all I got was "ctrl shift +" and still the texture problem.
