To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

>refuse to engage the accusation that the "game" is tagged walking simulator
>refuse to engage any arguments by attacking semantics on what the COD genre is called

Said it plenty of times and I'll keep saying it: Kojima drones will only attack and mock your arguments, but they will never actually defend their game by explaining what makes it fun. As in sell the game.
>It was fun in my mind
Is not an argument. Objective value statements can be made about art, otherwise you get pic related.
You can always argue if art is good or bad. You may like watching paint dry, but that does not make it good.
