Self explaining code is good practice. Function calls should basically be the comments by themselves. Resorting to comments should be rare.

southern caelid is a valid alternative to liurnia btw. its north caelid otherwise known as dragonbarrow where you will get smacked hardest for trying it out of order.
Other than that people typically have 2 timesin the game where doing things out of order is noticable
#1 they get weapon upgraded past what morgott is balanced around
#2 they dont get vigor or weapon level up to what mountaintops is balanced around
other than that the idea of over leveling or under leveling is a bit of a meme short of skipping part of the beginner zone until lategame.

the community was against trail and error even back in dark souls 1 where people complained about the trail and error attacks like nitos sword out of the ground. Not to be confused with delayed attacks type "trail and error" where delayed attacks with clear visuals were in fact not trial and error and it was a skill issue.
Then you had the rote memory wiki enjoyer players who love game knowledge type fights where you win when you know the secret and they would make excuses for those types of attacks but piss and moan about fights like triple rot crystilian because it required dynamic tactics (actual critical thinking). So fromsoft ended up nerfing those tactical fights into the ground and keeping the game knowledge "skill" type fights

The US Army has marched into a LOT of places 20 yr olds couldn't find on a map. And that's besides the fact that Americans are laughably awful at geography.
