Chadley should have been related only to materia synthesis based on monsters and summon data. The towers and lifestream springs should have been its own thing.
The corel prison was overhyped, they sold an idea but they couldnt sell it well enough. The original was just a bleak place with poor people. If they wanted it to be the dangerous place, they should had have Cloud sword taken, and the party tied up, the cherry on top with Gus making the same exact "girls into sex slavery" statement. That way, Cloud cant just slash everyone and actually works for Gus, thats a pretty easy fix.
I would have moved the palmer fight to the gold saucer fight, as a support for the turks. Remove the rufus fight, no need for now.
The red xiii seto scene should have stopped, then walk back, and when you walk back thats when you meet gi nattak, not almost immediately after it ends.
I would have moved the costa de sol minigames (soccer, shooting range) to gold saucer wonder square.
Focus more in lightning fixes, it might be an engine problem but i dont know.

I cant really add more that bothered me, the rest is great, it is a very well made game. Story, battle system, characters, music, its all really well done and entertaining. In many ways it surpasses the original. I wonder what are they gonna do for part 3, maybe Hub based with the highwind, while doing missions to find cloud, wutai/midgar war, huge materias and weapon hunting? that would be pretty cool

Not at all. It has a lot of flaws.
Balance is non existent, and the action mechanics get in the way of the RPG elements. There are no builds, no jobs, no real elements integrated in the battles, its just dodge/parry with tons of lumina stacked. The side content is repetitive or downright boring. Game design is lackluster in general, the lack of minimap and proper visual reading makes exploring places a chore. The story loses its meaning by the end of act 2 and the post content is downright unbalanced, just like FFX. Sciel and Lune get completely tossed aside for the teenager, the new guy verso and the family you are not emotionally invested in, more like they force you to care. The story completely forgets about Gustav as well.

I still liked the game but people really got brainwashed by this game, and the fact that people are setting it as an standard is just downright depressing. I truly, truly hope they just let exp33 be and not try to emulate it.
