But I still think it makes more sense even then that she's deliberately placing them in the path. They're too set up to be alongside these major trials that have been set up ahead of time by some mysterious someone that may indeed be FRIEND. All this side stuff doesn't feel like something Gaster would have done himself, but FRIEND has some Gaster connections and does seem like the type that would fuck with things possibly.

You see that can be explained by it already having parasitized Carol. If it got Dess first, obviously then Carol herself would be searching frantically too, so it manages to get Carol alone in the shelter and grabs her. I wouldn't know when this happened, maybe recently since the game isn't really skipping time.

Yeah, by this time it's absorbed Undyne and if I'm even a smidge right in my assessment then while it does take on aspects of people it's absorbed it's also becoming more of a person, who might be Dess, a girl who probably has an attitude.
