I don't live in the US or in a country affected by the Shanghai Shivers all that much. We don't even have many jews and no black people to speak of. Yet, 24/7 has also died here. I think businesses just realized they could get away with giving you less while still charging you more which seems to be the explanation for almost every change in the past few years.
Only local places have 24/7 locations and they're constantly struggling against big brands trying to muscle them out through any means possible.
Like most problems in life, the reason is greed.
