But...but why though? What do you get out of it? There are no achivements or feats, it's going to be a long time before the first patch drops as well, what do people gain from this? Why would someone "Play" the game like this when the whole point of Epoch is the new custom content?

If they just launch it without any announcements at a random time it's going to help with the queues tremendously

Also, I don't think any other servers are going to made as well, simply because the game has been, essentially, offline for over a week now and a lot of the hype has died down
