TF2 community, we hear you! There are indeed too many maps in the game, and our current matchmaking system can barely keep up with your creative enthusiasm.

To make the game handle future updates better and ensure everyone gets their fair share of the upcoming MvM content, we are merging the current casual matchmaking system with the MvM matchmaking system.

This means that every time you will try to connect to a game mode that is not MvM, you will have a 100% chance of connecting to the MvM game mode. And for those of you interested whether you need to buy tickets to play or not? Yup. You're still paying.
