Every system in the game was designed to reward speed while the combat itself was at odds with that. It feels to me like different people designed different aspects of the game and never properly communicated. I mean look at the state of 0.1
>Warrior's part of the passive tree contains a downside to every upside, or every upside is conditional. The raw damage stats and defensive stats are terrible. Armor is borderline useless. Active blocking is useless. Every mace skill has built in reduced attack speed and armor gives reduced movement speed
>Monk's part of the passive tree has 0 downsides to everything, shits out free damage, crit, evasion, ES, etc. All of their attacks shit out projectiles and they drop bells that like triple their DPS
>Stormweaver stacked INT/Mana which gave both offense and defense and allowed for insane max hit and screenwide clear at the click of a button with spark
>0.2 releases Huntress in another part of the tree with like no downsides, busted ascendancies, and the current most busted build of LS that rides around on a rhoa and just kills the entire map at full movement speed
>Warrior is still sitting there
