I LOVED Remake.
But I LOVED Rebirth even more.

XVI stinks.
XV was ludo.
XIII was kino.

I still think FFXIII has a much darker, more twisted storyline and world than FFXVI does
All the dark and edgy wannabe gore and dimly lit cutscenes in the world won't make me feel anything if there's no spirit behind it.
But let me tell you this....Eden made me feel something. Cocoon made me feel something.
The cold, shrewd, lifeless technological world that has physically removed humans from the Earth and fixed them into the sky in a prison they do not want to be free from.....
Kino. Pure kino. Glossy visuals and ambient synth pop music makes me feel 5x as nervous to get in a fight as FFXVI's dark dreary world.

Playing the original after finishing Rebirth increased my appreciation for both the original and Rebirth alike. I think it's only Remake that comes out feeling a bit "meh" in comparison, because Rebirth is just so insanely excellent.
