ARR's world building was mainly in the patches, the release story was as uninteresting as DT's with garbage padding (the crystals for Garuda, the feast for Titan among other things) except for the Coerthas bit but at least it didn't introduce shit that later stories will have to address to even function (the regulators alone are a fucking massive can of worms) but on top of that, from what I saw, DT's patches are shit too.
I don't understand how they let this hack writer be the main writer of DT when EW's patches were already clearly showing all of his writing problems and massive flaws. Ishikawa was put in charge after being responsible of multiple storylines that were singled out by the players for their quality while his FFXIV resume showed that he was previously in charge of storylines that were either middling or actively disliked.
