Mahjong here
I watched the first episode of Lord of Mysteries, as per anons recommendation, and the show lived up to its name. I had no idea what was happening during the entire episode. I began wondering if the director was a Humean in the way that there was seemingly no causal logic driving the progression of events on screen. It felt like picking up the 4th book in a series with how much assumed knowledge was expected.
The rendering was beautiful but the animation itself was a bit janky. The framing/cinematography at times was surprisingly strong. And despite being set in fantasy industrial england, it was very chinese. I'm not sure if I'll watch more.
Mahjong out.
