The Mendoza Line is more applicable for career averages for our purposes. Mendoza's line was .200 which he achieved with anywhere from 50 to 300+ at bats a season (he actually finished with an average of .215). Teams get 3 games here, which is a single game's at bats in baseball. /skg/ is called that line because over their history they have consistently been below average. Within a single group they can serve as a barometer for the other three teams' strengths, but that gets thrown off by luck.
