Nobody agreed to that. Wishes are useless and the moment you find a playgroup that just says fuck it and you use it for a advantage they go back to not allowing the illegal sideboard anymore. Unless you are making a meme deck or playing against bad magic players who don't realize how stupidly OP letting you grab any card outside of the normal deck building restrictions is.

It's annoying because I can't get people to agree to funny meme cards like this without having to explain the gimmick first which tips off people and drastically decreases my ability to pull off the card.

Legal use of wishes are useless. The impractical way wishes are used annoy most rando playgroups to not allowing it because wishfags also insists on breaking the one card rule of EDH to let them replay a their win cons that were exiled. No in between, I've opted for the first in a vain attempt to introduce some lower powered jank into my pod, inspiring others to join me. The group made the exact same calculation you made and lost. Had they not made that calculation, I'd have lost. Unless you have experience piloting the deck, my anecdote inherently carries more weight since it isn't theory crafting.

Got a question regarding how power and toughness buffs work in this game for a card I've been considering for a deck. So I've got Coram on the field and Mightfrom Harmonizer. Currently I have a creature with power 5 in my grave so Coram's effect is giving him 5 power. I play my land for turn and using Mightfrom Harmonizer, I double Coram's power to 10. I attack with Coram. His effect triggers and I mill a creature with 7 power. What does Coram's power become? Would doubling his initial 5 power this way effectively be the same as giving him +5 boost till end of turn or is doubling power or toughness considered a different kind of buff? Would his power end up being 12? I'd think it would just be a +5 boost till end of turn and he'd end up with 12 but I ask since I know power set by effects can be a weirdly finicky thing rule wise in some card games and am unsure how it's done in this one exactly.

How do I make an interesting deck? I look at my lists and see landfall, glorified elf tribal, artifact ramp, tribal, another tribal, basic aristocrats/group slug, enchantress, and I started thinking about another commander and after a few minutes realized I was just going into artifact aristrocrats and it clicked that every one of my decks can be figured out by looking at the commander. I want to make a deck that's at least a little bit novel/interesting, but the only way I know how to deckbuild is using tons of scryfall searches to find synergistic shit, and I never get flashes of inspiration where I look at a card and go "Wow, I could build a deck around this."
As an example, I was thinking about another deck that would ping a lot, and when looking up some stuff on the commander I saw the OTJ crime mechanic getting recommended because it technically targets all the time, and this is the kind of thing that would've never occurred to me. If I built that deck it would have just been a bunch of burn spells and support/payoffs for them and that's as exciting as it gets.
Am I just playing the wrong format? I feel like a poser. Niche interactions and "jank" are the most exciting aspect of Magic to me but none of it comes to me without being explicitly shown, like I can't even fathom what's in this guy's >>96358808 99 for example.

How new to card games is this guy? You certainly went as fool proof as possible with this list with simple and direct effects. Which if this guy is very new is probably a good idea. I'd probably want to put in a few artifacts too just so he has a bit of every card type to use. Karador costs so much mana that he'd be sitting there a lot waiting to cast him so maybe a bit more ramp stuff so he can get his big guy on board a bit more consistently and early? Though if everyone else is playing decks at about this level too then that's probably not too much of an issue either.

Theoretically he can cost as little as 3 mana. While I agree that I might have been able to fit more ramp in, I really wanted to place a big focus on card advantage because a big problem lots of new players run into is ramping into topdeck mode then praying you draw a bomb while missing land drops. There's a lot of ways the deck can be tuned to function better, but I wanted the baseline to be making as many hands playable as possible because he often makes novice mistakes like keeping really bad hands.

Temples are there because they contribute to card quality even though they're an easy cut at higher-level play.
Bouncelands help maintain card advantage.
The 3c taplands were because I was lazy.
See above for why. A huge focus was keeping him from ever running out of cards so the lands help with that even if the deck is a bit weaker for it.

having played a few years, and of having seen it all, the more i find myself enjoying control. pinpointing the exact pieces that help my opponents win and removing them, overwhelming them in card advantage and seeing the game slowly grind to a halt for them, while i slowly beat them down with a swarm of small evasive creatures, is pretty much the only thing left giving me a kick or something resembling joy in this format.

Am I smoking crack or is the absence of bracket or brackets that explicitly ban infinites a huge oversight? People have been hating on combo for over a decade, I leave for 2 years and suddenly combo is ok even in the lowest bracket of play? Its not like its even just my playgroup or the playgroups of my friends. a lot stores and content creators pushed against combo. Except for the obvious breaking of the deck limit of 100 cards, wishing something in Commander would still force you to follow deck building restrictions. You'd still have to follow your color identity, and you'd still have to only be using one copy total of a nonbasic card, period. You don't get to break color identity or use multiple copies.

There are valid reasons to hate proxies.
1. The "proxy" is some strange art that isn't the card's actual art and the relevant game text is obscured or missing. Causing misleading game states.
2.Most proxies do shuffle differently than an actual card even in a sleeve. Since most proxies are of powerful shit, one could easily learn to always cut to it.
3. People that use proxies have no real clue how to actually play the card they are proxying. they just proxied it because it was "powerful". The game then slows down every time they get it.

Granted all the reasons can boil down to less a problem with the actual proxy and more a problem with idiots or assholes.

The stuff I proxy is from places like Usea, Ron/BL, and Bootleg Mage. For all intents and purposes their stuff is a 1:1 perfect copy in terms of looks, thickness, and so on. The only difference is they don't pass the 4 red dots in the green orb test, but that never comes up because everything is double sleeved. I guess my stuff is technically bootleg and not a proxy? Still though, I don't see a reason that anyone should have to pay insane prices to enjoy playing the game.

She's really fun with x spells and token doublers. Picrel is both a pump spell and a board wipe/pinger if you have enough mana/doublers. Second harvest is also really cool for her and any cards that increase the damage your pings do. Virtue of courage makes every meteorite enter into more cards to play etc. she's cool

If the archers are being used as untap fodder you have a sufficient number. They are legitimately terrible, so they are essentially being used as lands. You'll need Enduring Vitality, Elven Chorus, Cryptolith Rite, Earthcraft. Maybe Ashaya? Maybe Citanul Hierophants?

The other issue is that they often only hit fliers. Meaning you'll need unfortunate viridian longbow effects to make the most out of her ability and keep up a consistent source of card draw.

That commander lead to a huge crash out with one of my friends. It was his literally best deck, most optimized and he pumped twice as much budget into it than the pod average.
