Is there any point in owning a console any more? They're twice as expensive as PCs and have 1% of the exclusives, which exist in a highly curated corporate bubble marketed at the dumbest normalfags. If you primarily play on consoles I don't see how you can realistically participate in video game discussion in good faith, and I'm being completely unironic here.

I got a switch and the reason I didn't get a switch 2 is because it only had 2 good games on it, and they weren't even great or unique games. I was actually appalled by some of the stuff that gets praised by Nintendos consumer base now. Like FE and Xenoblade are nearly 0/10 games for me, I can't take anyone praising those seriously. They are so obviously terrible. Even metronid prime is pretty much just halo slop but even dumber. BotW was eerily similar to ubisoft games. In this way I feel Nintendo has become exactly like Microsoft and Sony, which means they no longer hold value.

Consoles are still worth it for a sofa based gamer into the new yearly sports games. Also fine for the few exclusives if you just don't care about the cost of owning consoles and a decent gaming PC too.
Now the elephant in the room. A whole lot of console gamers just aren't a good match for doing the tech etc for a gaming PC. Either too young or just too stupid, maybe under employed for the costs of a gaming PC etc. Proof of this is in any PC game with crossplay and/or voice chat. It's not everyone but holy shit the bad side of crossplay (console players) is absolute suffering.
