There will be those who can build deep (300u to 2,000u) and those who can't.
If you find yourself in the deep_builders group, and fall in love with the concept, it is worth teaming up with a Content Creator, the likes of Captain Steve, Beeblebum, Xaine, Jason Plays, Hero2u, Scottish Rod (if you can understand the King's English), Professor Cynical ... , as they can be a sounding board for WHAT to build. That leads to a dialogue and will help perfect various techniques that are known to work.
Needs I have identified so far include : What building parts can reliably be built at what depths, how to build a Base Computer at, say, a 700u depth. Because of the 1,000u building limit, that is the only way to have a surface landing pad/base AND a trench depth at 1,700 that could be just a record breaking wonder, or could be a way to use the new dredging tool?
It is a totally new challenge, and, so far, as you might expect, there are very few players down there.
Me? I'm a Space guy, only happy if there is no air. Not the ideal deep-sea player, so I'll follow up what others do. and eventually I might make a token deep sea base just to show I can do it.
All the best, and don't be afraid to try new stuff. That is how everything in NMS got done.
