I think Kamiya just threw a tantrum when he found out PG made a deal with TN and Microsoft without his knowledge after he tried to scam MS with Scalebound. After NG 4 got revealed he was begging Phil again so it checks out. Unlock your camera. Use hold extensions at the end of your combo strings that end with heavy attacks. I think they have hyperarmor on some of their melee attacks which you just block or counter with light attacks but for all other stuff they do you can just dash into them to interrupt.

Bayo's NSIC was just a gimmick that forcibly turned the game into a glorified TPS where melee combat is a fucking detriment. Never seen a game fall apart so hard mechanically. It didn't even change any enemy spawns except for Alfheims. Absolute failure of gamedesign.
