i like boomer shooters, i like doom, and i like the aesthetics eternal was going for with the levels, it feels inspired by ps2 games in a way.
not only that, but i also like action games like dmc and ninja gaiden, eternal feels like ninja gaiden 2 in a lot of ways, both games lock you in rooms with a ton of enemies to kill while running and jumping everywhere switching weapons, pulling out autistic tech, using i-frames for survival, and being constantly on the verge of death.
im even fine with the platforming sections of the game, im used to them from playing so many shitty ps2 games, and they're not hard at all.
i don't think its a perfect game, but it does feel like it was made specifically for me
