I've only recently gotten into these games after missing out on them my whole life thinking it was just 'combo slop' and it's the most fun subgenre of games I've played. Genuinely enthralled by all these games and I haven't even played half of them yet.

you can just set a custom resolution, on nvidia at least. That's how I do it for my C1. There's also desktop resizing which can also work but it's better to make a custom res directly and just switch to that before gaming, I recommend adding 3440x1440 (most games support that) and 3840x1620 (multiple of the 1080 ultrawide res), just add these from the nvidia panel. THe desktop resizing is also on the nvidia panel (I still use the old one, fuck the app)

This game needed exploration + challenging puzzles + challenging plaforming sections to improve the pacing a lot, clearing room of enemies after room of enemies gets exhausting.

i like boomer shooters, i like doom, and i like the aesthetics eternal was going for with the levels, it feels inspired by ps2 games in a way.
not only that, but i also like action games like dmc and ninja gaiden, eternal feels like ninja gaiden 2 in a lot of ways, both games lock you in rooms with a ton of enemies to kill while running and jumping everywhere switching weapons, pulling out autistic tech, using i-frames for survival, and being constantly on the verge of death.
im even fine with the platforming sections of the game, im used to them from playing so many shitty ps2 games, and they're not hard at all.
i don't think its a perfect game, but it does feel like it was made specifically for me
