About to do my usual Monday jog today since I figure I may as well make it so tomorrow is a lazy day since it's a long weekend. After that gonna get back to Resident Evil 8 which I recently started. I also reached my goal in Slay the Spire (beat Act 4 with all characters) so now I need a new 'switch off my brain and watch youtube videos' game. Also been reading Tsukihime Remake. Enjoying it a lot.

There's genuinely too much coming out on October, Pokemon looks fun, Katamari should be fun, excited to finally see Tales of Xillia not on PS3, Ghost of Yotei looks cool. Should be fun though.

I just much prefer the combat and the way the progression works. The classes are better balanced (After a million patches) and the token system is much better than what was used before.
The Hamlet in the first game sucked and in the second game the runs are more satisfying.

Trying to play through the CnC 3 campaign as GDI. This is some extreme levels of bullshit at times. The AI has access to a fucking infinite amount of resources and just keeps sending suicide attacks at me to no end, meanwhile I'm limited to finite tiberium and the fuckers also have some air tight defenses in between attacks. Sarajevo is being a tough nut to crack.

Built my computer for 500 bucks. i3-9100F, 15 gigs, RX580, 770 and 990pro SSDs, with a bunch of other left over large HDDs. it runs Elden Ring Erdtree and Total Warhammer 3 moded up the ass and that's the only recent shit i cared to play. i was going to play FF7 Rebirth but card is too old. So might upgrade for that and do my CPU as well so i can run my moded X4 SWI better.

I played a few matches of 2042 and seethed.
I'm consistently at the top of the leaderboard for the first 1/2 of the game, but then I'm not rewarded for defending points so the lemmings that run from point to point endlessly overtake me, it's quite annoying, and my squad of randoms are never anywhere near me on the leaderboard either.
How often I win and the enemy team has the top squad slightly irritates me.

Mario 64 is incredibly well designed. Besides some fucked up camera stuff, the level design still holds up. Movement is better than most modern platformers. The hub castle is also cooler than anything else including later mario titles.

Played lots of Legends of Runeterra over the past week, getting back into it for the first time in over a year I think.
I ran through the new turtle wow dungeons and now I'm leveling a warlock to twink out.

I mean, part of it is getting the achievement, but I look at it as playing it differently than you would have otherwise. Using different characters or weapons, taking different routes through levels, even learning glitches that you werent aware of before.

Its not for e-peen measuring or anything like that. If left to my own devices I would probably be taking the same routes through the same levels with the same characters, but its fun to see if I measure up to the tasks in the game. Maybe those kinds of challenges arent up your alley.

Playing Asscreed Shadows. The scenery is really great to just take in. Switched to Japanese VA after starting with English. You really don't have to play as Yasuke for more than a few minutes every few hours and Naoe is the one that actually plays like AC. I remember in my 20s people said that once your responsibilities start you'll enjoy games again.

I'm in my 30s now, with kids and have barely a couple of hours a week to dedicate towards games and I just don't feel like playing them. Instead I stress about how I could use the time better to read some cool book or spend some quality time with my son or friends.

From about the age of 3 up until 23 videogames were the only things I cared about, then it just died for me. I still follow all the studios and releases but the last game I actually truly played (not even fully enjoyed) was Witcher 3 in 2015, 10 years ago by now...

I've just been playing a hodgepodge of random shit out of lack of any better ideas. We Love Katamari, GTA3, and DQ3. All of them are great in spurts, but haven't pulled me in to really dig into them. The meatiest experience with a game I've had this weekend was probably just dicking around in Melty Blood AACC training mode at the direction of some dudes from /vm/. It's interesting how well it conveys weight in its controls for an anime airdasher and how much basic movement can differ between characters, unlike something like an Arcsys game where everybody is slippin' and slidin' Blades of Glory all over the place with a few dedicated exceptions.

I'm checking out Deadlock again but it just makes me wish that it was actually released and the mechanics were more crystallized. I don't. I actually live a physically healthy lifestyle. I gym 4 times a week and walk for an hour on not gym days(sometimes also on gym days). I cook all my meals while making sure to get my vegetables in. Doing all this has definitely helped but the root problem still isn't solved.

Addressing emotional issues with family members is all part of it. The solution is to move out but I know that's not an option for a lot of people these days. When I decided to finally get in shape I had to shop for myself and just not eat the food mom prepared. She got butthurt about it of course but then she had a health scare and started eating the healthy stuff I prepared.
