Real answer without being dismissive of the gacha system: the one you start as close to launch day as possible.
People will talk about muh pulls, muh generosity, muh pity system, but if you start playing at launch day you will handle the game content just fine even without spending (unless you're playing the MOST jewish shit out there), but if you start playing the game a few years after launch you will be playing the catchup game if you want to play endgame content, no matter the gacha.

I haven't seen a single player understand or discuss the story of wuwa in its 1 year+ of existence. I've played the game myself for a bit, and in the first act they throw a million new words at you that don't make any sense. Afterwards they stopped caring about it since people started dropping the game and just went all in on waifu pandering, with every new girl being obsessed with you for no reason.

I have. I saw people piece together the twist in 2.x's overarching story before it was revealed based on clues in the previous patch stories and world design. You're right that 1.0's story was rough though, but the game isn't in 1.0 anymore.

Limbus is the only one that has real characters because it has a set cast that everyone has access to, instead of the usual ever expanding cast of main characters, meaning they can actually develop said characters instead of making stories that are just ads for the current seasonal banner. ZZZ's biggest strength is that iirc it's main director doesn't have a "gaming" background. He's an animator. Which means the game design is oriented toward looking and feeling cool rather than trying to create the perfect game. And the result is actually really, really fun. Its also very experimental and odd at times, which is fine because I guess its the first time the team has made a game. I like it a lot, even if they have misses sometimes they're actually trying and clearly put a lot of care into the game.

Arknights is/was just a solid TD game and I think the only game that'll ever have a gacha system that HELPS the game. Because people end up with different units, the way to clear stages differs, so you'll play the game differently from others

The quality is inconsistent because gachas are live-service games. Though the most hyped I've been for a gacha story was during the camelot-babylonia-solomon period in fgo. Arknights chapter 8 and Cartethyia chapter in wuwa also came pretty close imo. But if it's about the overall good feeling and fun to read then I'll give it to nikke.

Easiest to play and travel around the world. It's getting better with the upcoming patch which lets you fly in the starting areas.
Once you play Wuthering Waves, you can't go back to the slow traveling in Genshin.

S. Anby is an interesting choice. She's already a lot stronger than S11, Zhu, Nekomata, or the elec twink from Section 6 so she doesn't need a buff as badly but I guess Anby/Nicole are the poster-girls of the game so they want at least one of them to be strong.
I'm still holding out for Billy and Nicole to be buffed to competitive levels and/or get cool looking retrains.

Depends of what the combat is about but I like it when mastery is involved. It can be the mastery of the enemy's patterns, your own character combos, your stamina management, your actual inputs and so on. Even better when many of them are involved in a battle system. Also like it when the game makes it feel good.
Basically most well known action japanese games (not gachas of course).

It'll be hard to have a gacha with this game design if devs still cater to mobile players unless they incite them to use an actual controller. Which might actually happen considering how many controllers chinks shit out that are phone holder compatible.

I actually reinstalled GI for the first time since Jan 22 apparently, and it's feeling pretty hard to break through that immediate barrier. The way the games menus are ping ponging me around areas as "catch up" ideas feels awful, I'll click on a mission and then it turns out that it is one from further forward. For instance I am doing the Chasm quests and when I first arrived I saw a blue diamond and clicked on it and was in the Chasm and I assumed that "alright this is just how it starts". After completing though I have went back to the actual start of the quests and am doing it essentially backwards. I don't know if this is common but it feels bad.

Pound for pound on quality, I'd say the best gacha ZZZ. The game is incredibly well actualize and the story isn't constantly dragging its ass, the episodic nature of the plot makes it very easy for them to avoid the pitfalls that make Genshin physically painful to play, and the gameplay is firing on all cylinders all of the time

But if its pure value I guess Granblue still holds the crown of "gives out the most shit"

HSR gameplay is basically Persona, if you had to pay for your personas.

Playing gachas as entirely F2P are miserable. However the moment you spend money, even if it's the daily premium currency and battle pass you start to feel obligated to play every single day. It's basically a MMO subscription. It doesn't help that every gacha copies the same game modes from other genres but much worse. There's auto chess and roguelite modes in every gacha now. It's more busy work for paltry rewards.

There's also the new shitty trend of releasing double FOMO either at the same time or back to back that you need both or you bricked yourself. Keep in mind you need not only the characters but their weapons too. That's 320 pulls per patch cycle with F2P only getting 80 and that's generous.

There's not much to do in HSR besides walk down corridors to trigger your 4 niggas gameplay, so there's not much else you entice players with other than stronger units who break the power curve. To be fair, Break as a archetype has been boned in the Amphoreus period. There's no bosses shilling break and I think there's basically none which are Fire weak, since there are literally 0 new Fire units in 3.x, which slows down FF's break (even if she implants she has to ult first) and reduces her damage. Unlike Miyabi who is so powerful that she can bruteforce her way into Ice resistant bosses. Not as sure with Neuvilette since I don't play Genshin much but no Hydro immune bosses?

HSR is really just a completely generic gacha game with better production values.
Just like them, you're rolling for what amounts to specific power JPEGs with a short shelf life. Any battle amounts to listening to the music while sped up automatic battle wins the fight for you and an extremely wordy LN inbetween to give you something to do while you wait for the train to reach your station.

Yeah I kept HSR on as a side game since dailies only take like 5 minutes (weeklies about 15), but I finally uninstalled earlier this week. I just don't care for any of the characters in Amphoreus and the story has sucked ass. Just when it's starting to be good it pivots immediately to shilling the Dev's OC waifu. I was really just holding out for Fate collab, but that was so low effort and trashy I just skipped the last half of it. I finally realized I'm literally not having fun anymore and just playing due to sunk cost and went cold turkey.

Hopefully kusogames comes out with an HSR clone so I have something to sink my time into. Open world slop is just too time consuming when I could be playing real video games.

To be honest, I don't even engage with people that shit on wuwa anymore because they're always acting in bad faith. Like, motherfuckers will shit on the game for 1.0 issues when 1.0 was over a year ago by now. Break is just poorly designed not because of toughness bar inflation, but because it also suffers from HP inflation. It's a double whammy that just fucks over the entire archetype and even Boothill's gimmick doesn't really solve it.

Honestly speaking nothing is really safe in this game. Any gimmick archetype will get powercrept like DoT, which is going to get fucked again as soon as Hysilens falls off. Even hyper carry DPS can get bricked if the devs really wanted it to as THerta, once considered the best f2p unit, is already falling off. And Castorice is only hanging on due to Tribbie and Hyacine shitting out damage and being updated with Evernight/Cyrene because her kit itself is mediocre.
