We went from "This happens never because singleplayer games don't update" to "This is a relatively common thing." Happened to Elden Ring, happened to Lies of P, happened to Doom Eternal for a second but there was actually serious backlash when they did it in that game.
And the mentality that leads to stuff getting patched is the most common thing in the world. Part of it might be that if you have no complaints you don't go rant online about it, but the patient sentiment of "I'm going to really try to figure this out and see if I'm missing something" feels seriously unusual to see compared to screeds about how something is obviously bad design that's ruining the game.
