I just watched the first episode and realized I still have no fucking clue what her name is. I'm sure I'll find out a name as I watch on, but still. That seems unusual.

Can you name one other Gundam series, hell, one other mecha anime period, where the protagonist's name is never stated a single time in the first episode?

So yesterday I finished replaying pic related and I have two questions.
1. Having only played this and about 2/3 of FM3, what's the general consensus on the series and what are the better installments of it?
2. Are there actually more deployment slots on the final mission than recruitable pilots or I somehow missed one? I had 16/17

The best Battletech robot!

I'm watching Gundam (the first show) for the first time and I can't get over some pretty stupid things. For example, why the fuck did they teach Amuro how to use a gun? He's a Mobile Suit pilot, not an infantryman. Pilots don't need to learn how to use weapons, because they already know how to pilot a walking death machine that can use a bigger gun. It's literally not part of his job to use a machine gun or a pistol, even if enemy commandos managed to reach the base, because he could just pilot something to swat them out.

I don't know, maybe I'm just being nitpicky, but the show is kinda stupid at times.

Why are there so few fantasy mecha peices of media? Escaflowne, Aura Battler Dunbine, Vanguard Bandit, Wares Blade and Frame Gride (no one ever heard of them)... still pretty obscure.

So whatcha watching, /m/en?

I liked Unicorn, why do people here seem to hate it?
Banagher is a good MC, he gets a lot of shit done and he isn't too whiny, Marida and Audrey are cute and also get a lot of shit done, and Riddhe is a fun schadenfreude victim. I don't care much about the UC retcons it presents or the implications of Char's ghost or whatever the fuck, those scenes of Zeon remnants activating all over the world for one last job were really cool and the OVAs are full of cool moments, that's all I ask from the franchise.

What Gundam series that you want to get a manga retelling? For me, it's F91
