Yeah and I'm the retard here. Spidernigger is a fun movie with nicer visuals than other modern CGI animated movies but it's still a cynical corporate product of one of the biggest IP's in the word hitting every mark of what was popular at the time

Seems like the directors had a lot more creative freedom than your average capeslop movie but it's not an auteur work like Spirited Away and doesn't even come close visually or narratively.

Putting aside how highly rated Spirited Away is, it's fine if you think it's way overrated and I'm not trying to put it on a pedestal, but at least it's a personal film and singular vision. Not a superhero movie with multiple directors and executive oversight making sure it's appealing to every popular trend. The sequel to spider-verse is better btw they should of at least put that one higher
