kris is probably stuck in a triple trucies situation, likely very similar to what was going on in ch2
at first glance it seems like he's working with carol and/ or the knight, but then why does kris fight harder against them when susie and ralsei are down? there's no appearances to keep up if kris truly didn't want to fight the knight he could've just stopped fighting
then there's kris working with susie and ralsei, kris clearly cares a lot about the two of them, there's enough evidence to suggest that susie is the best thing to happen to kris in a very long time, and if (you) let kris comfort ralsei it seems like the two of them finally get a genuine bonding moment for the both of them
and lastly there's kris putting up with (you), clearly there's more to it than just working with the knight, kris clearly hates (you) to the point of nearly killing himself by the end of ch4 snowgrave, if running out of hp in the light world does cause death, surely whatever reason kris has must be more than just the promise, in snowgrave it doesn't seem worth it even despite how little info we have about it
