You and everyone that shares this reasoning are no coder larpers that have never worked in the industry. Maybe there was a point when projecs like OpenWRT happened, but soon after that the big companies got wiser and now there are mostly two scenarios:
1. They avoid GPL code like the plague (how do authors benefit from nobody using their code again?)
2. They take over the project under the guise of good will contributing (that's happening with the Linux kernel and many other big projects)

The owners of money just prefer to shove it all in the stock or bond market instead of investing in the real economy and creating real jobs.
It doesn't help that income taxes from investments are LOWER than from real jobs or real company profits.
So basically you have a bunch of money locked inside accounts generating interests for the rich while the rest of population starves.

PES was pretty good all the way up until PES 2021. It's a shame about eFootball and how Konami gave up on their offline fans entirely, killing off modes like Master League and even regular offline cups... at least we'll always have those classics, and a big modding/patching community that's still making up to date content for titles as old as the PS1 ones.
