I'm glad more people are waking up to the idea that FRIEND could be the one that messed with Jevil and Spamton instead of Gaster.
It always felt too "hands on" for Gaster to have done it. They even seem to imply the stories Jevil got from the stranger and told to the king were enough gassing up the Knight for the King to devote himself to it. That doesn't sound like something Gaster would be doing at all.
Given all the demon shit and the "at your service" stuff, I feel like the point is going to be that FRIEND is trapped in servitude. Gaster used it's power for the Dark Fountain shit in the first place and making this world. And now Dess is the new master it's found, but it's presenting as a "FRIEND" to her so it can convince her to go with pushing this "Freedom" stuff.
They're behind all the Shadow Crystal stuff TOGETHER. A team both working to push this onto us in secret side stuff. So that when we finally get strong enough to get "Freedom" they can ride it out with us.
But that'll turn the idea on it's head. We'll be literally freeing a demon. And it may not be so friendly when it gets out.
