This whole "violent tendencies"/"intrusive thoughts" interpretation would be fine and good in a normal story or even most other games, but in this game YOU the player are your own character, YOU are controlling Kris against their will, YOU reveal YOURSELF to Noelle before YOU make her EQUIP the ring, and Kris hates YOU for what YOU did
Focusing on these inferred elements of Kris's character is just laundering YOUR own agency in making Kris take these actions and pushing YOUR responsibility onto Kris. And going so far as to claim "Kris could have stopped us at any time but they just didn't want to" is character assassination, plain and simple.
