I don't really follow the comic industry, but don't they have "runs" by different authors? How often does a new run happen?

I feel like the real problem with the Sonic comics is that we've basically been stuck with Ian for literal decades at this point and the dude is clearly done.
He got swapped with Evan for a little while, and she blew it, so now it's time to swap to someone else for a chance instead of just going straight back to Ian.

And this is the real problem with the Sonic franchise.
Kids like Sonic because he's cool. The general audience like Sonic because he's cool - design wise, at the least, even if not personality wise.
No one wants a "cutesy" Sonic except Sega because they think that's what people want, but only shows how out of touch they are. Perhaps its their inner-nip bullshit that makes them think that way. That everything has to be chibi and plushie and cute and shit.

The problem is, if kids want cutesy, they'll go Nintendo and play Mario or Pokemon. They won't go to Sonic, because he's not "cute" and "family friendly" to them.
Sonic needs to hit that teenager/young adult demographic, so kids have something to move on to from the "cutesy" shit.
It needs to become the cartoon animal Dragon Ball esque shonen it was always dreamed to be.

I'm just now learning about some weird drama in the Sonic Riders community and that there's 2 main mods, Riders DX and Riders TE which is an off shoot of DX that came about because of Discord drama.
