I said the same when I was only a few hours into the game but nah, the game is kinda shit. The story SEEMED interesting in the first few hours but there's something lacking about the whole thing. I feel like the characters got their souls sucked out of them after the timeskip. Even before that I didn't care much about Cid.

I think it should have been a full action game like MGR, the boss fights are where the game shines.

I have no idea how people without nostalgia google can put Chrono Trigger even close to the likes of Radiant Historia and Expedition 33. The plot is more on the level of TTYD if even that, and the gameplay isn't there to match TTYD either.
