I finished the draft of my fanfic. And I got like 6 likes on my fan art.

Good way to cheer up my day with this damn rain and constant blackouts.

Five years from now, Zavok is gonna be so unironically glazed. Ten years from now, people will react with shock and confusion when they find out that "old fans" thought he was lame.

But as someone who became a fan before most of those "old fans" were born, I'm here for it. Zavok is way past cool.

He has a design that's VERY different from Sonic while still feeling like he's part of the same universe; He's a heavy brute in a world of noodly speedsters.

And it's neat to have someone besides Eggman, not loyal to him, lead an opposing villain faction.

He is at least way better than Shadow! ;)

Yeah because Flynn is the kind of writer who doesn't ignore what happened before, and aknowledges it.

That's why Baldy Nosehair is mocked twice under his pen, and Zavok some respect in his writing rather than just writing him as a joke who the narrative agrees with the fandom he sucks.

I respect that.

Windlads being angry at the characterization nonsense reminds me of what Dragon Ball endured during the Super era.

The Toei anime had multiple moments of mischaracterization for Goku and some other characters that it became a trend to refer to the Goku from Super as a different character. And Toriyama supervised this crap.

And then there was the DBS manga, where Toyotaro wrote a very different incarnation of Goku, one that reminds me of the whole Metal Virus Sonic discourse. Toyotaro (or despectively refered as Toyble) is even trashed maybe more than Flynn ever was.

It does bring a certain nostalgia to those times being around here. Some things never change.

I read a fanfic with practicallly no kudos or comments, and left a comment saying I enjoyed the reading.

The author was grateful.

It felt...nice, to just be nice to another person.

I re-read Batman the Cult yesterday.

It was cool, but I can see why Blackfire as an antagonist didn't take off.
