>Why Prince Demande wanted her?
>Implying
Manga he just wanted to rape her to humiliate her and prove his dominance before killing her, Naoko’s Demande didn’t really “want her,” he was a complete psychopath who was threatened by a woman in power and served little more than a caricature strawman for Naoko’s man-hating fantasies.

Ikuhara’s version also didn’t really want her and was just a closeted fag trying to use Usagi as his beard, pic related.

First ever yaoi ship too. Funny story about these two, I used to be a Demande/Usagi shipper and didn’t even know this ship existed because I was mostly exposed only to the old dub while growing up. Then one day when trying to search for some Demande/Usagi fics I came upon a whole site filled with fics with these two, at first I was utterly and completely weirded out because 14 year old me was all like “aren’t they brothers?! Also this wasn’t in the show or even the manga…” Intrigued though I couldn’t stop reading, mainly cause the author’s writing of the couple reminded me of my favorite hetship OTP at the time, so I couldn’t help shipping them at the end of reading too. Still I was perplexed, where was the author even getting this absolute crackship from?

Imagine my surprise when I finally got my hands on the original uncensored Japanese version of R and watched it through properly, apparently these brothers were subject to the same sort of censorship Uranus/Neptune got and were even considered canon to the 90’s anime back in Japan with several official supplemental materials confirming their canonicity. Because, Ikuhara.

Thus began my descent into brocon madness…

>All the homoshit is still there, it's just implicit instead of explicit, and with a dash of incest.
>implying there wasn’t already homo incest in the original

>If you think Sailor Moon can deconstruct anything at all(but itself, although that means it's not about the genre) given its context, you just don't know what the term means.
Did you or did you not read the manga? Because it’s clearly a proto-Madoka that frames being a Senshi as a bad thing and eternal life full of suffering.

The Sailor Moon manga was aimed at yuritroons who are all just mentally ill men.

>Sailor Moon is for boys too
Only the manga, the 90’s anime on the other hand was aimed at fujos thanks to based Ikuhara directing, pic related.

>I don't remember that detail, to be honest. I've been watching an episode a day, so if it was mentioned earlier in the arc, that could have been a couple of weeks ago. So to me, it looked as if their relationship was introduced for the first time in episode 40, the episode where Petz finds Sapphire wounded.
Yeah it’s easy to miss but it’s also referenced in some other supplemental materials exclusive to Japan such as the Sailor Moon R Memorial Book and a Drama CD, basically Saphir dumped Petz for Demande, said Drama CD even has Petz outright calling Saphir a brocon in response.

>Saphir and Demand are the best "villains" the show ever had.
They were also a bunch of gay faggots, unless you meant their manga versions?

>It jumped on the Magical Girl yuri boat when it was in vogue and hasn't looked back.
>Implying Sailor Moon wasn’t the start of that slop
The manga version started the trend of the Mahou Shoujo genre leaning towards grimdark deconstructive tropes and attempting to court the yuritroon crowd, it has a literal yuri harem ending (wedding) ffs and barely any relevant male characters. Madoka actually took direct inspiration from the Sailor Moon manga, particularly the Stars arc.

Meanwhile the 90’s anime was more fujo friendly due to being directed by Ikuhara, the inclusion of fujobait was actually one of the things Naoko hated most about the 90’s anime and tried to contract at very turn in her manga, because like most mentally ill hardcore /u/fags she hates men, but especially gay men and their faghag fujo admirers.

Pic related, a scene from the 90’s anime that wasn’t in the manga. The two men in question weren’t shipped at all in the manga and even tried to kill the other, and there’s more such examples where that came from as well.
