I like the bigger biomes, I didn't like how back then there were 4 chunks of forest, 4 chunks of plains and so on. I however don't like the fact that there is still a lot of 'mountainy' land, making building and traversing worse
don't like the random cracks in the ground that lead way down, feels like a cheap way to get people to explore. there also seem to be a lot of cracks filled with water, which seem impossible to get in to mine.
iron seems to spawn a lot less which is retarded, this alone completely halts most progress

I have experienced the degradation firsthand and can say it's true
after giving it some thought, I think I still played when tripwires were added (around mid-2012) and I thought that was bloat already lol
also I'm playing through a cracked prism launcher, I don't see an ability to download maps (which I do want to get into when I'm done with my normal world). if there are any must-plays I might try them in some time
